    This happened to my wife and I while houseboating in the Atachafalya Basin near Henderson a couple years back. We were told it happens when oxygen in the water is low. It is REALLY spooky to see.

    I saw something on TV about these fish. Some type of non-native chinese carp that jump out of the water due to engine noise or by putting a small electrical current into the water. Unfortunately they are destroying habitat for native fish. Apparently they're not good eating either.
