The anti-law enforcement stance of this article is as palable as the anti-gun bias. Still, it is overwhelmed by the copious arrogance based on ignorance, making it completely laughable.
Yeah, those creepy ghost ring sights need Jennifer Love Hewitt to come exorcise them. Frightening stuff for a liberal hippie gun ignorant know it all who probably got his ass beat at the last anti-nuke love-in he attended. The irony is, the Taser shotgun was developed so criminals will not have to be shot with the uber frightening real thing!

This was already featured on an episode of Futureweapons; quite a fascinating concept. The on-screen interview with a spokesman from Taser made it seem as if, in the future, all conventional rounds could be made obsolete by this new technology. Regardless, I believe there always will be a case for old-school hollowpoints in a life-and-death defensive situation. As an instructor of mine once said, "Some people just need to be shot," and he didn't mean with a Taser!

I thought it was a stupid ad also ...
Tasers are a great alternative in some cases to actually shooting with a firearm...but if it is a multiple-attacker type situation, or they are wearing heavy clothing, it may not work all that well. As for those that protest its use...well, being tased is generally something you can recover from, a .40 hollowpoint less so. Tasers are better than no alternative at all.
If tazers were used primarily as an ALTERNATIVE to guns, there would be much less animosity surrounding their use.
As illustrated by the "Don't taze me, bro" guy, they're oft used as punishment. Anyone who says otherwise is stating that they believe the police would have been justified in shooting that same guy with a real firearm while he was buried under four or five cops.
Taser's are a great alternative to shooting a lethal round when less force is required. Unfortunately, cops have shown that they'll fire their gun every time just as before, and the Taser becomes a punishment. Here in Houston HPD has not reduced their number of shots at civilians at all, but the those who don't respect their athori-tah! are getting tasered left and right.
