Bike More

  1. I hate to break this to you, but there was a study recently that found that, mile for mile, a fairly fuel efficient car has less impact on the environment that a bicyclist does. Humans are not fuel efficient, and all of that pedaling has to be refueled with food that is harvested and delivered by machines.

  2. I might add that I live less than two miles from my office, and actually bike to work when the weather is accommodating. But parking is non-existent unless I enjoy coming in a couple of hours early. Plus, it's frequently the only exercise I get during the week. So I love my bike, but I know it's not significantly better for the environment than just driving my car would be.

  3. Cute video. I really did find that it was great to be able to bike to work when I worked seven miles away. Now that I'm almost 30 miles from home, I just can't. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, though. I was in a much better mood in the morning when I started the day with a bike ride.

An amusing video. As one who spends a lot of time behind the wheel in the NYC metropolitan area it has inspired me to get out on my bike more.
