Ugly Gun Sunday

Here is a revolver from the Colt Factory Archives Collection. It looks like Colt was contemplating a piece of the RG market with X24713.

Hey! Po' folks need guns too, especially Colts! ;)
My In-laws have a little RG-14 .22 revolver, and I know they were cheap guns, the epitome of the "Saturday Night Special", but it's the only .22 pistol in the house (my pistols are Czech surplus models 52 and 82, everything else is rifles and shotguns).

...It doesn't look all that ugly to me. Not more than your average snubbie anyway.

I don't feel deprived that this never hit nthe stors and I never bought one... What a beast of a gun. I'll stick to the Dick special, Cobra. Agent and Diamondback thank you!

I'd call that gun the new Colt Night Crawler... It has the appeal of a worm...

Bear in mind this is one of many many archive guns Colt is selling off, this was a semi finished revolver that was trying to be a more modular approach to gun making for the old company. it was to have a replaceable grip shape, it was to have a smoother shrouded cylinder pin for easier reholstering, and it was to be stainless to make maintenance less of a hassle than what Colt Blue was.
