Another Colt experimental pistol. I have no idea what it is.

Xavier, I read your blog everyday, thanks for writing it! This looks like a attempt at the socom contract the the HK Mark 23 won. Extended Grip to hold an high capacity single stack mag. and that weird looking rail on front to hold the light/laser. Ugly as sin...

I like that ejection port cut.

"Which way did he go?"

Huh. It's like a DE with a scaled-down slide and a different grip angle. (And a thumb safety.)

Not too bad. It has a futuristic look.

Looks like a 3-way accident between a 1911, Beretta 92 Vertec (grip) and a Beretta 90-Two (rail cover).

Agree that it's a SOCUM prototype.

The pictures revealed by the auction of the Colt collection are wonderful, aren't they?

Here is another picture of a Colt SOCOM pistol, which this is. (link)

I like many pistols that other people consider too flashy, because I think that harmless decoration is a good thing; and I seem to be in a minority in thinking the Colt Double Eagle has a clunky 1990s period charm; and I don't mind big, chunky pistols like the H&K SOCOM pistol ...

And even after all that, the Colt SOCOM pistol is a prize candidate for Ugly Gun Sunday. It doesn't look mud and sand resistant, or easy to maintain.

I have no idea what it is either. Looks like a piece of shit to me.
