This dealer is just an hour down the road from me. He's had this promo quite some time now. It's just recently that the news has gotten out. I also heard a KC radio ad with a similar deal through a local indoor range. Buy a car/truck and get a coupon from the range/gunshop.
The latter was just jumping on the band-wagon. The first has done this deal before in prior years.
Wow... "professional" newscasters like that are just downright scary. Leading questions, opinion dripping with arrogance and condescension, downright argumentative! The car dealer did an admirable job, though, (and I'm armchair quarterbacking here), I wish he would have spent less time defending and more time convincing, especially when it became clear she was taking such a hostile position. In addition, I wish he would have redefined "assault weapon" to what it really is: a full-auto battle weapon.
In any case, God bless that car dealer and I hope he sells a lot of cars!
This circulated the office the other day. I think the dealer did an admirable job of defending his position on his feet! The reporter was well-prepared (probably figured out her questions before the interview hoping to catch the dealer flat-footed -- FAIL!) but couldn't get the job done.
This makes me ill. Journalists should be after the facts, not an agenda.
Agree with Nathan; the bias (not to mention the ignorance on most 'gun' issues) by the news media - especially CNN - is frightening. I also thought Mark (the Dealer) did a superb job of 'thinking on his feet' and I also hope he sells a bunch of trucks...
I reserve the right to not publish ignorant ill-informed and filthy comments from vile cretins who have a four letter vocabulary. Further, anonymous comments with strong opinions and personal attacks may be rejected. If you want to voice a strong opinion, at least have the courage to sign your name to it. You don't even have to use your name, make something up so the next person can address your comment without confusion.
