If memory serves, these so-called journalists are injecting lies whereever they can: as I recall, open carry is legal in NH no matter what sort of property you're on, so that nonsense about "the church gave permission" is a bunch of bull.

Private property owners actually have much more control over that, as they can ask (demand) anyone to leave said private property.

Independent interview with the open carrier. Much better then the interview with the talking head yelling at him.

So MSNBC is against both the First and Second Amendments.
Don't get me wrong but, that guy is asking for trouble. He's doing it legally, but he is inviting trouble. Good for him for standing up for his rights. Let's hope nothing bad happened to him for exercising them. Hopefully, if he is asked to remove the gun in a respectful way, he will show the same courtesy and comply. If for no other reason than to ease the minds of the already stressed Secret Service agents.
I only wish I had the same right here in NY that he has in NH.

I've been trolling this blog for a bit, and find your posts extremely interesting! Thanks for the good work, your time, and service! I guess after watching this, I just couldn't help myself and had to post up. It looks like this could have been staged...why exactly is the most anti-gun president in our history (that I've been alive to see) doing a townhall in a place where a church would allow a man to open-carry on their property? It appears to me that if this were staged, it would be the perfect ploy for this administration to promote legislation against both gun-owners and those who are called "religious". Just a thought.

I do however believe that it is quite stupid that anyone would open carry near any area that would be hosting the president. The term "knucklehead" while fitting, only scratches the surface, he is not too bright at all. Maybe I'm just jealous that I can't carry (legally) in my state...oh by the way the state I live in, Hawaii.

  6. The worst part of this is the morons who insist on always calling this "Obama's Town Hall", trying to imply that this guy was a threat to the President. In reality, Obama was not there, was not going to be there, and was never scheduled to be there. It was in no way, shape, or form, save in the propagandists' twisted minds, "Obama's" Town Hall.

Xavier I just received an email about this. Maybe it's old news to you. Prety muchboils down to the beginning of the end. Or maybe it's the middle of the end.

Ive watched most of the interviews/pieces on this. Some of the worst agenda driven journalism I have seen. Really trying to associate this guy, guns etc with everything from the birther movement to anti gov militia types. Really a low point in media IMHO.

  13. How disappointing to see so-called gun owners excoriating one of their own.

It is COMPLETELY LEGAL in New Hampshire to open carry... in spite of certain bed-wetting police departments who persist in harassing those who open carry. And now, seeing gun owners calling this guy a knucklehead for actually, you know, USING one of his rights... Disappointing. Very disappointing.

Although I admit, his taste in holsters is execrable.

  14. Thanks for the heads-up. I've been watching some of the other interviews with Mr. Kostric. I found him intelligent and literate in his explanation of what happened. Furthermore, he has guts to stand up for what's right. I might not agree with his tactics, but there's nothing wrong with his strategy.

If you want Yahoo's story on the Arizona gun-totin' story, here it is: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090817/ap_on_re_us/us_obama_protesters_guns.

This is almost beyond belief. So why didn't the on-scene reporter interview the guy? Wouldn't that at least suggest some objectivity (knowing there isn't any)? The host's question on set is the most ignorant and uninformed monolog I've ever heard and the respondant is apparently equally ignorant.

It is completely legal, however, this guy is doing something gun owners should not do - strike fear into the other citizens.

So, my verdict is legal but bad call - this sort of thing incites alarmist reactions and only generates bad press.
