Let me see if I got this right; the 4 students were in Baltimore? I suspect Baltimore is one of those "Gun Free" Zones? The Burgler (with a "lengthy arrest record" of 29 incidents) was hiding "crouched" under a table and "lunged" at the student who went to investigate? The student swung the sword and laserated the burgler in the upper chest and cut off his hand?
Sounds like self-defense to me; hope he doesn't get his life ruined for defending himself...
this is around the corner from my work "across street" from a major hospital I guess this is a new push pin on the baltimore murder map http://tinyurl.com/2udukb poor guy this ain't texas...probably charge him gotta live w/ the memories
And it's interesting that the perp' was newly released from incarceration. Justice has finally been served. Good riddance. Hope the student is completely exonerated.
the thing that kills me in all of this is the perp's sister is saying the kid should be charged, and that the perp didn't deserve to die.
sure, it sucks the guy was too dumb to learn from his mistakes, but stupidity should hurt...and this will be less of a burden on us taxpayers.
someone recently compared the nastier parts of East Baltimore to a third world country, and i'm starting to agree. this place is turning into NYC in the 70s.
The States Attorney is deciding whether to file charges against the STUDENT? Excuse me, but WTF? I reserve my right to slice and dice a 29-time repeat offender, or a first offender for that matter, in defense of my person and or domicile. If you don't want a close encounter with Sammy the Sword (or, in my case, Sammy the Sig Sauer) stay where you belong and where you have a right to be!
I'm reminded of the fact that if this student were in the UK, he couldn't even legally own his Katana now.
Hell, I've got a real Scottish broadsword from ColdSteel.com, but if I hear someone breaking in downstairs, I'm reaching for my Mossy 500 in its bedside rack.
I reserve the right to not publish ignorant ill-informed and filthy comments from vile cretins who have a four letter vocabulary. Further, anonymous comments with strong opinions and personal attacks may be rejected. If you want to voice a strong opinion, at least have the courage to sign your name to it. You don't even have to use your name, make something up so the next person can address your comment without confusion.

"Blood curdling screams".
ReplyDeleteHeh.
Catastrophic failure of the victim selection process.

ReplyDeleteJustice, biblical style. Gotta love it.

Interesting bit of hypocrisy - JH Police responded (out of their Jurisdiction), yet the talking mouths say it's not their matter.
ReplyDeletePrayers go out tot he student for exoneration and a return to a normal life.

In the name of Dungeon Masters around the world, we hereby award this student one hundred experience points and two rolls on Treasure Chart 'O'.
ReplyDeleteNice work Grasshopper!
ReplyDelete29 previous incidents?
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell was he doing free on the street?
