We're 90 years today from the end of "The War to End All Wars"
21 years later, another World War began.
Winston Churchill attended Officer training college in 1895, and the received opinion at the time was that the nations of the world were too modern, too developed and too democratic for him and his age group ever to see a proper military conflict...
War is part of human history. The hard lesson is that it tends to happen to peoples who are un prepared.
Let's hope we never see another world war, but with the noises coming out of Russia at present, and China needing someone to blame for an economic downturn, I think we might.
To the 10's of Millions who have died or been scarred in action and as a result of war. I'm thinking of you.
I've thanked some others today, and sent an email to everyone in the company expressing my thanks.
So now I'm thanking you, Xavier.
Thank you, Xavier, for your service to me and our country.
And you're very welcome, shipmate! It was my honor to serve alongside you and our fellow sailors, as well as the Marines, Army folks, and Air Force folks.
I reserve the right to not publish ignorant ill-informed and filthy comments from vile cretins who have a four letter vocabulary. Further, anonymous comments with strong opinions and personal attacks may be rejected. If you want to voice a strong opinion, at least have the courage to sign your name to it. You don't even have to use your name, make something up so the next person can address your comment without confusion.
Thank You Xav, Happy Veteran's Day.
