Idiots With Guns #9

Not content with watching the cat chase a laser, Elmer decides to try to raise his girlfriend's awareness. Rebecca thinks Elmer's new laser is just the cat's meow.

Say Ah!

The purpose of Idiots with Guns is not to humiliate, but to educate. Over the years we have seen photos of people who, upon picking up a gun, just cannot resist pointing it at something they should not, with their finger on the trigger. This is usually the camera, another person, or themselves. These photos are often difficult to google up, because of the pages they are shown on. If you have archived any of these photos, feel free to send them in to bayouroversATjamDOTrrDOTcom

The Four Rules
1. All firearms are loaded
2. Never let the muzzle of a firearm point at anything you are not willing to destroy
3. Keep your finger off the trigger unless your sights are on the target
4. Be sure of your target and what is behind it

Oh, yeah. The brain-stem shot. She wouldn't feel a thing. All circuits would disconnect immediately and she would drop like a box of rocks.

She would wonder, though, for a few minutes, what the hell went wrong. The the brain would run out of oxygen.

What an idiot.

In this case, we cannot be certain if the pistol here is loaded or not.

However, loaded or not, a pistol must always be assumed and treated as being in condition 0 (loaded, safeties disengaged, and ready to fire).

Furthermore, guns are not toys. They are not designed to amuse your cat with the lasersight or to be used as a substitute for a standalone laser pointer. They are weapons designed to injure and kill your target.

The owner should be clearly and swiftly reminded of this fact. Stunts like this can (and do) get people killed either directly or indirectly.

Now, to be fair, I once did a photo shoot for a photography class slideshow project that involved a pistol. The only difference here is that the pistol I had was a nonfiring plastic simulator of an M1911A1 (Combat Commander type) with the photography being done in controlled conditions. The pistol I had was a model as opposed to being a weapon. - Reinhart

Looks like a professional kitchen. Must have been "bring your gun to work day."

While guns are certainly dangerous and should be treated with caution, the other danger is the laser.

Shining a laser at the bridge of someone's nose (less than an inch from their eye) is extremely dangerous. A small shake in his hand could blind this poor girl.
