Mardi Gras 2006

The Krewe of Zulu held a New Orleans funeral march to kick off Mardi Gras. The Zulus lost ten of their members, and over half of them lost their homes. Many of the krewes see it as their civic duty to parade, to uphold 150 years of tradition in 'Nawlin. Mardi Gras has been celebrated there since 1857. For many, to not celebrate would be to surrender to the devastation of Katrina. So Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler. At least for 8 days, then back to reality.
