Mardi Gras 2006
The Krewe of Zulu held a New Orleans funeral march to kick off Mardi Gras. 
The Zulus lost ten of their members, and over half of them lost their homes. Many of the krewes see it as their civic duty to parade, to uphold 150 years of tradition in 'Nawlin.
