I don't think that S&W makes anything that could solve that issue. I think you are looking for something in the vicinity of a 120mm smoothbore gun.

Sorry, but I have to disagree...

A weapon-mounted light and scope on a 5" barreled, 35oz, 1911 that takes 8-round .45 mags is okay (TRP, GSR, etc.), but the same light and scope on a 5" barreled, 35oz, 8-shot .357 is somehow garish?

I think it's pretty cool, especially for people dead set on using revolvers for duty and home defense. It will be very impractical to actually carry, of course, but no more so than a 6" medium/large frame hunting .357.

Oh, I misunderstood you. I though the Smith was supposed to be an answer to the problem. Anyway at least the revolver doesn't drive by me and rattle MY windows and then block the entrance to a shopping center because it's high-centered on a speedbump. And yes I have seen on with a slammed Civic. It blocked part of the only entrance to Best Buy/Office Depot/Gander Mountain

If the tac rail is a bad idea on a revolver then its a bad idea on any firearm...period. I have no problem with it. In fact I'm suprised it took soo long for anyone to come up with the idea.
