North Hollywood Shootout

I'm changing this post to a simple link to the video. I could not figure out how to deactivate the autoplay.

The gun store they talk about is B&B guns who was later closed down due to their "improper" transfer of those firearms to police who were getting shot outside their doors with no end in sight.

People forget how entirely ineffective the police were in this situation, and how easily it can happen again. The police are not an army, and should not be expected to act as one.

existingthing: are you sure about B&B guns being closed for that reason? It's true that the store is no longer there, but I can't find anything to suggest they were closed down for giving the police those weapons. Not saying it didn't happen, just that I can't find any info on it. Any links appreciated.

Oxen - no you're not the only one who can't stand John Burnell's sensationalism, his ego, the sound of his voice as well as his commentary. He blows things WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of proportion and places importance on things that have no bearing.

The way he presents things is another means of placing cops in a separate category in our society, and Hollyweird loves him because he caters to their stereotypes and supports their views on firearms.

I love watching the his show, but usually with the sound off. He makes many erroneous assertions, does not clarify things, and he expects people to accept what he says at face value without question - after all, he's a COP.

He's a MORON.

Unfortunately I do not have any hard links that back up my statement (which I should have noted was unconfirmed), I got this information from a Sheriff, and a Police officer on seperate occasions. It may be one of those rumors that makes its rounds, but it sounds pretty believeable to me...

I love this video in the unedited version. It really highlights the importance of good marksmanship skills in a critical situation.

As a person pursuing Psychology as a career I find this case very interesting. As someone who has also done work with $ it is alarming to hear of what these 2 individuals did prior to this act.

Let's pray this never happens again - That we as a society can help angry people out there to choose the right way. People only wreck their own lives completely by doing these things.
