posted by Xavier at 8:51 PM
Xavier is a Registered Nurse who specialized in complex wound care. He has practiced for over fourteen years in his community. He often provided nursing service in areas where law enforcement refused to enter without back-up. Xavier now works in surgery. Xavier has been an avid shooter for over 30 years. He strongly supports the 2nd Amendment, opposes gun control of any sort, and carries a weapon 24 hours a day. Xavier is known on various internet gun forums as XavierBreath. He is married with three children, and is moderated by an apathetic one eyed cat, a goofy Golden Retriever, and a stalwart German Shepherd Dog. One day, he hopes to be deserving of them all.

Umm... OW!!!
Holy friggin smokes. Can he keep the foot?
Ow! F&*%!
That hurts just to look at!
(...and this is coming from someone with enough steel in her right leg to build a bridge out of...)
What's the name of the ammo, and how much for a box?
Whoever that was probably lost the foot, there is simply too much tissue damage for the foot to be saved and still be functional IMHO. There is simply nothing left to rebuild. That person would likely be better off with a prosthetic than a foot that can't be walked on. Looks like it is a shotgun wound, an AR does not do that kind of damage with one shot. Sure a 5.56 might mess you up, but most of the tissue will still be there.
interesting picture....
Sugar Cat and I actually dealt with this potetial as a "drill" yesterday.
Pics up soon.
yeeesh! that gives me the wee-willikers.
Guess this dude won't be doing any ballroom dancing for a while. Don't think it will help his golf game either.
OMG! DAMN!
Yesterday's practice drills with PC makes even more sense now after seeing this picture. I just can't imagine that foot being saved as crosshair mentioned.
Yeeowch! That's gonna leave a mark!
Xavier,
Are you able to vouch for the authenticity of the picture?
There are some faked photos going around.
The surviving robber in that LA bank shoot-out lost both of his feet to short-ranged AR-15 fire ... ankle shots from under the car he tried to hide behind.
A 2" wide swath of complete destruction from a .223 at short range is completely believable.
And yes ... that will leave a mark.
Actually, both of the Bank of America robbers died, if I'm thinking of the same robbery - the one where all the full-auto fire took place. The LAPD is being sued by the second perp's family for not getting him medical treatment fast enough. He bled out.
I saw this on AR15.com. The poster said it was a near point-blank shotgun wound - hunting accident. Is there any further info on it?
