Jennifer's First Time

After a day or two, I still cannot watch this video without smiling. Jennifer's grin is totally engaging, and I finally realized why. Jennifer's smile is the smile of the person suddenly empowered.

Thank you Oleg!

Outstanding! If I'm not mistaken one of the pistols was a Bersa .380 . I just picked one of those up in Duo-Tone the other day.

How cool! I recently took a friend of mine to the range for the first time as well. I only shot a couple rounds, but I had as much or more fun coaching her than shooting myself.

She was a natural shot too. She's already itching to go again.

Getting women involved in the shooting sports is essential to the future of RKBA.

Years ago, I took a girlfriend to the range for her first time. Shot .22 and .38 special. She was a pretty good shot, too. Turns out she is related to Bat Masterson.

I have to keep the sound off here at work, but the pictures and captions tell a great story all by themselves. I ended up having almost as big a grin on my face as she did! How can you watch that, and NOT smile?

She shot Ruger 22/45, Massberg 144 and 151 rifles, French Unique .22 and MAB D .32, Czech CZ50 and 83 (.both .32), Walther PPK .32, Glock 17 9x19, PLR16 .223, M1911A1, 870 in 20ga. Great shot, a natural with rifles.

The women learn quickly, because they don't have their ego in the way. Men think they should already know how to shoot, especially from watching movies, etc. This really slows down the learning process.
One lesson I learned: make sure the ladies wear a high collar shirt, even if you have to give them yours. Hot brass down the neck of a low cut shirt/blouse can be a real turnoff to shooting!

Great video! More girls need to join in. I HAVE TAUGHT many of them to shoot. The .22's to start out with was correct. Bring her back for a sequel.

Teaching the girls does more for the 2A than all the speeches in the world. We need them.

Very cool vid. I took my fiancee shooting for her first time a few months ago. I was planning on starting her out with a .22 so she wouldn't get spooked, but after the safety class she took she got out on the range with a model 10 and burned through a box of .38 special like a pro. No joke, that girl shot better than I could ever hope to.

We're shopping for her first wheelgun soon. What a woman!!

Ahh,it truly does ones heart good to see someone take the time to have a youngster venture out to the range and enjoy the shooting sports. Looking at the winter clothing she was wearing it didn’t seem to bother her at all that it must have been mighty chilly that day.

Thanks for sharing the clip…now I can have some of the faint at heart folks that I know, about shooting, take a gander at this clip and realize that it’s just another sport…as long as your extra careful and teach that.

That Walther was looking like a PPK actually the other way around. Good to see the Bersa mentioned here though. I too love that Jennifer video, she reminds me of myself and hopefully my Mother soon. I heard Oleg on GunTalk last Sunday.
