Mitt Romney on the AWB and the 2nd Amendment

Well, Romney isn't the perfect guy for us gun owners, but he sure beats any of the Democrats right now. Anyway, we could still stop the assault weapon ban by writing to the Congressmen and women (and senators?). I also don't agree with the anti gay marriage view. Ah well, I doubt a Republican will win anyway. Also, I live Kali, so an AWB wouldn't really affect me :P. Everyone else has my deepest sympathy, though.

I keep thinking of all the ways GWB has f-ed up and can't bring myself to consider voting for Romney.

There is absolutely no reason to favor banning certain types of firearms--whether semi- or full auto.

Any politician who says he favors banning any kind of gun is exactly the kind of politician the Founding Fathers exhorted us to rebel against.

Long live those who support the Right to Keep and Bear Arms!

All the rest be damned.

He'd get my vote over this dufus. Maybe get it over Guliani too. Pro business, cuts taxes and pro gun.

Man! To think he could have been re-elected here in Mass as Gov and he went on to become the GOP version of John Kerry, flip-flopping all the way. His conservative act is as phony as Hillary Clinton's Southern Accent.

I will vote for him in favor over a liberal Democrat, but only in such a circumstance....

So much for Mitt. Rudy is a no. No Demotards or Socialists. The field narrows fast these days.

I'm certainly skeptical about ol' Mitt. Not realizing that MG's aren't legal now (NFA) and aren't an excuse for an AWB is stupid, plain and simple. Saying he'd support an AWB is a good way to lose votes right off the bat.

Anonymous #1, as a CA resident myself, HR 1022 definitely would effect you. As of now, you can buy an M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Kel-tec SU16CA or a Ruger Mini-14/30. Those are the only real options for centerfire semi-auto rifles in CA. With HR 1022, those options will also be gone, as will some of the more popular semi-auto shotguns that we can now buy. It is even more restrictive than our current laws. Keep that in mind.

"It would depend on what it looks like" - HELLO-ZUMBO?!? That's precisely what's freaking WRONG with every aspect of it, it's an entirely looks-based judgment.

Ca resident too, OLL all the way! :)

Rep. Ron Paul has my support. He's the only 100% pro-2nd amendment, pro-gun candidate on the Republican (or any) side.
