Seen this a few places in the past, and I agree, it's a great video. I'd have liked it if he wouldn't have harped so much about the "illegality" of class III weapons, but the good info he gave does go a long way. I know the whole Class III/NFA situation can be tough to explain in a compact manner to anti's..but he also could have just sort of not mentioned it anymore after the first mention.

Besides that - good stuff indeed.

Also see Officer Pyle's web page
here. He went through a lot because of this video.

Great video! He is very clear and easy to understand. More people should see this video. Of course an open mind would be required as well.

He was correct about almost everything, however the ability to purchase full auto firearms is not restricted to only police and military. I, a private citizen, can purchase a fully automatic firearm if I fill out the requisite forms, undergo the extensive background check, and pay the $200 fee at my local gunshop. Maybe in California there are these restrictions, but most other states allow law abiding citizens to legaly own fully automatic firearms. A very informative video. Thanks for posting.

Good video. But I have to ask why he said several times that full autos are prohibited except for LEO? I know friends who have Class III licenses and own fully auto firearms who are not LEO. Clarification please? Thanks!

Wow. Great video, especially with positive statements coming from police officers.
Wonder who's behind this?
Is the scoped semi-auto just an AK clone or is it an SKS?

He was a CA cop, so would not run across any civilian class III in this state. I think only the movie industry was allowed to have them, besides LEO. I suspect the video was targeted for CA viewers, in the late '80s. The Purdy incident (Stockton) was the basis for CA's first "assault gun" ban. His boss was that idiot McNamara, who was as anti-gun as possible. Strange, I never saw this video, and Leroy was a local cop. Must have missed it in the midst of all the gun hysteria then.
