Morse Code and modern mobile phone text messaging both have valid, legitimate uses. Text messages are handy for me when I know the recipient is in a meeting or at church, or if I only need to convey one small tidbit of information without the burden of a conversation.

What Leno didn't mention is that Morse required synchronous effort by the operators, while the text message could be fire-and-forget.

Cool demonstration, though. Those operators were FAST!
