Ambush in Mesquite Texas

James Walton was ambushed by an ignorant reporter from KDFW News recently. She asked what he had in his box, asked if he was trigger happy, and violated Mr. Walton's privacy with a lot of other asinine assumptions.

Here is where the video story once was. This URL no longer has active video. Shown below is the video that KDFW published before acquiring a cerebral cortex.

Video partially available with discussion here, at Breitbart.com

Here is where you can click and make your opinion known to KDFW. Rebecca Aguilar has been suspended. She should be fired. The newsroom editor who allowed this crap to escape the toilet bowl without an ass chewing must be held accountable as well. If you agree, go for it!

KDFW's phone number is (214)720-4444

KDFW's address is 400 N Griffin Street, Dallas TX 75202

Let 'em know you care!

I'm off to work.....More here later on this.

Later.....Back to blogging at 4:58 PM-------------------------------------------

OK, I'm back from work. Ms. Aguilar, you have no damned idea what you are talking about. You are a prying, ratings hungry yellow journalist, and not a very good one at that. You are dishonest with events, and you are ignorant of the law.

You imply the police took Mr. Walton's two previous shotguns to stop him from shooting the next intruder. No. The police commended Mr. Walton. He was defending his property, and quite possibly his life, both of which are legal in the great state of Texas......your own state. Mr. Walton's two previous shotguns were taken into evidence. He is not prohibited from purchasing another one to defend himself with again. Get your facts straight.

Mr. Walton obviously did not want to be photographed and he obviously did not want to answer your questions. That is not because "someone will come after him" as you state; that is because he does not want to speak with an ignorant, disrespectful news reporter like yourself. He made that clear in his first sentence to you. Why did you continue to impose yourself on this law abiding citizen who did not desire your company? Clearly, anyone who "might come after" Mr. Walton can obtain his address from previous news reports and the public record at the police station. Obviously someone who "might come after him" is not the police. So.....Someone who "might come after him" would be seeking retribution in the way of physical harm. Mr. Walton is wise to arm himself if that is the case. Wise, prudent, and legal.

You jammed yourself into his automobile door and continued to badger this elderly man with your questions and insinuations, even when he told you plainly and clearly he did not want to talk to you. He could not close his car door and back out of his parking place because of your actions. You forced him to stay against his will. Consider your actions Ms. Aguilar, consider them closely. Yes, this gentleman was upset. He had every right to be.

You asked "Are you a trigger happy kind of person? Is that what you wanted to do? To shoot?....To kill?" Who the hell do you think you are Ms. Aguilar? Do you have any idea, any idea at all in your sweet little head what a person goes through when they are forced to take another person's life to defend their own? No, you do not. Not an inkling. You self righteously declare "That's what I wanted the viewers to know." Know what? They don't have a right to know! It isn't their damned business. Your "viewers" simply need to refrain from climbing over Mr. Walton's fence at night, and they have nothing to worry about! The Grand Jury will decide this case Ms. Aguilar, not you.

I hope you enjoy your new job reporting on cake sales in Dime Box Texas........If they hire you.

Oh.....

If she really wants to do a report on it, she should break into Mr. Walton's property in the middle of the night and start taking his stuff. Now THAT would be true investigative journalism, as well as the shortest report of all time.

Disgusting - it was difficult to watch this shameful report! Shame on that reporter for harassing Mr. Walton and shame on the station for allowing this "ambush" to occur and to be aired!

I left them some thoughts, for what it's worth:
"Ms. Aguilar's actions were disgusting during her journalistic attack on James Walton as she ambushed him with insinuating and disrespectful questions after he purchased another shotgun to replace the two he had used to protect his own life and property. Calling him "trigger happy" was not only rude but very unprofessional.James Walton is obviously not happy about what he had to do. I would urge you to not give her the opprotunity to show disrespect to crime victims ever again.
Deeply disappointed,
Angus Lincoln"

*L* Excellent suggestion, helpscott!

Thanks for passing this along, Xavier. I'm beyond outraged, and I appreciate every single soul who makes their voice heard on this.

What I want to know is one man who was killed was from Forney, about 20 miles from the crime scene. Did he drive there, and was there evidence of other burglaries (possibly from that same night) in his vehicle? Were there drugs? What kind of life did THAT person lead? How about exposing the real criminals? I'm just saying the "reporter" was trying to deconstruct the wrong end of the transaction.

I e-mail www.myfoxdfw.com to complain about Rebecca for her disrespect to the victim Mr.James Walton. I recommend all gun owners in Dallas and surrounding areas to do the same.

Oh.

My.

God.

I just don't have the words.

I do intend to send a little "love-letter" to that POS news station concerning that POS reporter.

She needs to learn the investigative part of journalism before going full-on after an old guy who has to live with two dead guys' faces forever burned into his memory.

I have to believe that there's a special place in hell for people like her.

She picked a hell of a state to harass a legal gun owner protecting himself. In California they probably would have given her a Pulitzer...

This "Lady" should be fired ASAP. She (Rebbeca) has NO business trying to be a reporter.

Not a bit biased, is she? Give her a dust pan and broom...she can play in trash all day...her calling?

I sent the following:

Ms Aguilar disgracefully ambushed James
Walton in a recent news clip. She displayed
all of the characteristics of journalists that
cause the average person to hold the
profession in contempt.

Please fire Ms. Aguilar, the editor who
approved this piece, and anyone else who
worked on it.

Your actions will tell me all I need to know
about the integrity of your "news"
organization.

Fair and balanced, eh?

Disgustedly,

James

No, she should publish her home address and invite burglars to come visit her, then she can leap out armed with a microphone and...

This reporter is scum. Racist scum. She wouldn't do this to some street gang member who shot two people in the same time period. Instead she chooses to humiliate a law-abiding citizen.

The people he shot were in the wrong. The more people who are clearly in the wrong who get shot the better this world will be.

I think this was more than just yellow journalism. I think she was trying to get this man to say something incriminating. I think she was trying to destroy his life.

I first saw this story on Captains Quarters and zipped to your site to see if you had it. Well, of course you did. And I appreciate it.

Sent my response to the station pronto.

Ms. Aguilar is an ignorant and cruel POS. Her bosses are no better.

Gosh, I feel so bad for that man. I just wanted to give him a hug. He seemed so broken up and sad about what he had to do, and yet here's this woman harassing him and making him out to be the bad guy while she pretends to be a "tough reporter".

Horrible, just horrible.

I agree with anonymous - she was clearly on a fishing expedition and hoping something he said would in some way impugn him and make his actions seem like pre-meditated murder. She is a monstrous c-word.

As to the fishing and wanting to ruin his life, did you note her final insinuation?

"Although the police say he broke no laws, his case will be turned over to a grand jury to determine if he should be charged."

As of Sept 1, 2007 NOBODY can sue Walton (at least if the GJ doesn't screw it up)...the new law specifically protects him from such suits.

Once again, you stand up for yourself and protect your life and that makes you a bad person?

This is like some bizarro alternate reality. People that break into your property should be shot. They don't belong there and they are there for only one or two things, to kill you and/or take your property.

They're not there for a round of bridge or stopping by to say hello. They are there to victimize an old man, take his property and kill him. They deserve to be tortured first. They got off easy.

The sad thing is if they succeeded it's just another robbery and barely makes the news. If they get killed trying, the whole community and all the left wing nut jobs condemn a law abiding citizen protecting himself.

Our founding fathers would be appalled that society feels more sympathy for the criminals than their victims.

Is her umbrella as loaded as her questions?

The News Director that sent her should be sacked.

The Editor that reviewed this piece pre-air should be sacked.
