well, of course not...let the police do their job; go along for the ride and i'm sure within a day or two they would have recovered the body...hey, detectives and csi guys need to be needed, yes? or maybe they recommend the dreaded "death ray stare"...heh.

good on this tough old girl, the only thing she could have done better is to pull out her ladysmith instead of the scissors and "stab" him with a couple of +p's, then that subaru driver would have went merrily on his way.

oh, yeah, this is berkely...can't have decent innocent people going around with the means to effectively defend themselves against poor, misunderstood armed carjackers...

First, good on this woman for standing up for and defending herself. I think she really did figure out what manner of steel she is made from.

But the Berkely, Whole Foods, police advise "don't defend yourself", and the 2 featured autos, a VW camper bus and a Subaru Outback stereotypes remind me of why we have stereotypes- because they have some level of truth! And this new video clip captures it all with a straight face and no irony. That's what is funny to me.; 11:58 AM

While I appreciate the sentiment, what you said is a non-sequitur. It should be, "Move to Alaska or Vermont, and live free." Or simply, "Get a pistol and live free."

The police should have included in their description of the thug, "Has several deep puncture wounds, which are probably infected and oozing by now. The assailant may be stiff as a board due to tetanus."; 4:23 PM

I've been in this Whole Foods several times on trips to California- even by WF standards it's pretty far-out-there liberal. I try not to bat an eye among the natives but I nearly walked into an endcap a couple of times.

You live free by living free and not playing the "mother may I?" game with your government. If everybody adopted that attitude of non-compliance there'd be no more concealed or open carry laws on the books as their wouldn't be enough prisons to hold us all.

When people say stuff like that it reminds me of people that told and still tell Americans of African and other minority descents, "if you don't like it, go back to Africa (or what have you)" as opposed to treating them as equal free humans where they currently are. There are no magic "free people" spots of dirt on this Earth, just some places where people have the balls to fight for freedom.

Kudos to this lady for fighting back, even if it seems she did everything tactically wrong that she possibly could have done wrong.; 11:33 AM

Female beat robber in Aarhus

Although she was both threatened and cut in the forehead, a 42-year-old woman in Aarhus managed to make a looming knife armed robber fled.
The woman, who according to the police, attends boxing lessons, smacked two lightning fast punched in the face of the offender, who went to his knees for a moment, before he chose to run away.

The woman was out to vent her daughter's dog, on the paths behind Skjoldhøjkollegiet in Brabrand, when the man suddenly came up in front of her.
"I shoot your dog," he shouted, before he began to threaten the woman for her money, keys and mobile phone.
Police would like to hear from people who have seen the assault. The man is described as of Somali appearance, 20-25 years, 170 cm. high. He had black, flat hair and dark clothes.

I'm voting that his gun was not loaded. BG knows this, and simply lets it go to get in the car and drive off.
With all of that "don't fight back" advice, apparently its easier to rob someone with an unloaded gun?
Are there any statistics out there documenting how many attempted crimes (such as this) are committed with unloaded guns?

If people are told to "not fight back", banning real guns won't work to stem crime, because using something that simply LOOKS like a gun is good enough.; 11:36 AM
