Ugly Gun Sunday

Click to enlargeNecessity is the mother of invention, and guerilla warfare is warfare of dire necessity. Here is an assault compact rifle of unknown caliber forged in the fires of a guerilla war. It makes one wonder if it would be the first bolt action rifle affected by legislation in the United States.

Looks like it used to be a Mosin Nagant.

7.62x54R power in a compact package, what's not to love?

Looks like a Mauser trigger?

I don't know if I would have the nerve to be the first person to fire that weapon. I may alsobe the last to fire it, too.

Well, I disagree with Bob G. I suppose it depends on the eye of the beholder...

Have you ever played a game called Fallout 2? it looks a lot like something out of the game, ha ha...

It already falls under the NFA as a short barreled rifle. That doesn't look like a 16" barrel to me.

Personally, it wouldn't be worth the paperwork and tax to me.

Eyeballing it, it seems to have a barrel shorter than 16 inches. That alone would make it subject to restriction under our unConstitutional firearms laws. I suppose that's okay, since everyone knows shorter barrels make the exiting bullets much more dangerous.

Actually, if you look at the ejection port, it looks more like a .22 than anything else. I saw alot of WECSOG (Wile E. Coyote School Of Gunsmithing) adaptations along these lines when I lived in the Philippines. Lots of interest in "Looks Cool" rather than "Improves Function."

Yep, length of bolt throw makes it a .22. Panel on side is ammo storage, flap below is hinged, and closes the ammo storage for protection from (weather? prying eyes? who knows). Wierd, but . . . . No, I'm sticking with wierd.

Um, how do you get your finger around the trigger, or do you have to grow a claw?

Just found this on The Firing Line Forums. This is without a doubt, the ugliest gun I have ever seen.
