Ballistic Resistance
"Youths on Britain's increasingly dangerous streets will soon be able to equip themselves with bulletproof hoodies - fuelling fears of a further increase in lawlessness.
The hoodie can allegedly stop a bullet from a 9mm Magnum handgun and protects the entire upper body."

Yeah, OK, I want one. I think I will wait for the version that can stop a .45 magnum though......

I guess L.A.R. sells a lot of their Grizzly pistols over in the UK?
a tool for thugs.
If they banned the 9mm magnbum, then they wouldn't need this.
But--but I thought all guns were outlawed from the UK! (Rolling eyes)
oh, and it's "fueling fears of more lawlessness" to wit.
tell me, is there anything in the UK what doesn't increase lawlessness or the fear of same any longer? they got rid of their weapons, so can no longer go on the offense; now they're having to wear armor for their defense, and that's no good either apparently. it seems they've become a whinging lot, over there.
Dear Beth,
Please acquaint yourself with British firearms laws before posting. It will save us all a lot of forehead slapping.
Your pal,
Zane
Mayhapse they meant ".357" and got concerned that their slack-jaw'd readers might not understand "Imperial Measurments"
Still a great example of "You're doing it wrong!"
It's what Prince Charles wears when he goes out for the evening.
Sounds like a good way to increase casualties. Darwin in action!
I want one of them 9mm magnums, sounds neat.
9mm magnum, eh? That reminds me of an article I read a few weeks back that was talking about the lethal usage of the .357 Luger....
Maybe its a European cartridge :P
too bad stabbings are so prevalent there. . . and no 'ballistic hoodie' will stop them.
If it wasn't a bloody felony for a private citizen to own body armour, I'd be interested in getting one. Might not stop everything out there, but better a chance of stopping a round than none.
"It's an 88 Magnum. It shoots through schools."
IIRC, .357 is fairly close to 9mm. Maybe they were just changing the measurements from standard to metric? Sort of how the .30-30 is called the 7.62x51R in Europe...
I presumed that 9mm magnum was referring to the 9x23mm cartridge.
Wait wait wait...
Shouldn't the hoodie itself be illegal?
Illegal, no. The article about banning hoodies was related to an earlier article about a big mall (the Bluewater shopping center) that banned them.
I could be wrong, but I think 9mm penetrates much more than a .45, so if this stops a 9mm magnum then it will stop a .45.
Yep, one a' them eurapeein' calibers...
