Catshit Coffee

Britons are being encouraged to spend £50 -- about $100 -- for a cup of coffee that is made from animal dung.

The barista says Caffe Raro is a complex and costly blend of coffee that includes rare Jamaican Blue Mountain and Kopi Luwak beans. What makes this beverage truly unique is the fact that Kopi Luwak beans come from the droppings of civets, a cat-like animal.
Yeah, OK, they were dumb enough to give up their guns.....Twice.........But damn.....

I have heard that the Kapi Luwak is not that good a coffee. However, I did buy a pound of Jacu bird coffee a year ago and it WAS a good coffee.

they also call "Kopi Luwak" the "Hot Toddy Cat"...the fruits it stuffs itself and with as it eats has a mild alcohol content. and well...their "swigging, while swinging".

so their REEeeeeally really happy Hot Toddy Cats.

personally, anybody who digs in wild animal scat, and then has the brain fart to make it into a cup of coffee, deserves a celebrational kick,nay....TWO swift kicks to the nuts....that's nasssty.
on that principal I'd surmise they'd then attend a group whine session/peotry reading at the local Starbucks...Starbucks AINT all that great a cup of joe.
a bold French Roast Arabica/or a nice French Press of straight Kona beans,or hell.... ANY kind of French Press makes me have a happy coffee-gasm.
ok, screw it...I like Coffee.....alot,ok?!?!?

sheesh.....MMmmm guess I need a cup,and I'm getting fiesty now..
TO THE JAVA-NATION APPARATUS,POST HASTE!!!!!!!

Yeah that's just unrully gross. I wonder who was the nutball to first say "Hey, this coffee in this pile of shit is still good!"

I'm curious of all these uber-expensive products. Like a $25,000 bottle of scotch, or these $200 per plate restaurants. I know a $30 bottle of scotch is SCADS better than an $8, but at some point the returns have to be diminishing. And for the fool who spends that much on somthing, are they fool enugh to then say: "I spent fifty Quid on a cup of coffee scavenged from a litterbox, and unironically it tasted like shit!"

I do know that I once smoked a $50 cigar, and it didn't taste much better than the brand I usally smoke that runs me about $10.

If the accompanying picture is indicative of said coffee's bean aesthetics, the least they could have done was try to make it not look like cat shit.

They clean off all the feces from the civet (which is more like a racoon than a cat IMO), which is part of what makes it such expensive coffee. Supposedly the trip through the digestive system makes it more mellow.

I don't know if that's true, and considering how damned expensive and hard to find it is, I'm not inclined to experiment.

Hm, CoffeReview have actually given the Luwak Coffee a couple of decent reviews. But I've heard from people who have tried it and were less than impressed as well...

Anyway I would like to share my animation about the coffee that I made some weeks ago.

Cheers!
