Graduation For Ilsa

Ilsa has officially graduated from Beginner 1 Obedience. In fact, she placed second among all the dogs in the class. I think the Blue Heeler that got first place had a "in" with the judges.......

Good dog Ilsa!

Whats in obedience 1 class?

How long, whats the course of training??

I'm training my lab for a field title, and do just basic obedience - come, sit, stay (I can now go 250 yards away before whistling him to come). I hesitated with heel, but had to do that for the wife.

Its all pretty easy to do, getting them to respond to different whistles and hand signals, or do blind retrieves is more difficult. And properly quartering a field is sometimes a challenge - though with this pup we haven't gotten to that step yet.

what else is involved in obedience 1?
