Keffiyeh, Shemagh, Keffimaghflap
First there was Pam Atlas. Then Michelle Malkin. Next, Jawa, Red Alerts, and Wizbang. John Cole weighed in. Static emitted from Radio Left. Break The Terror broke. Holly had her say. Meanwhile
The quickest way to drive a symbol into irrelevance is through saturation. If it was even a symbol to start with......
If only I had a pig.......

Haha, thanks for the mention. Don't let Malkin see that adorable hilarious dog picture.
Biggest non-story since the left-handed bolt action rifle picture on the Hillary mailer.
Makes conservatives just look like a bunch of nuts. We can do better...
You might be a gun nut if ....
Every time you see the DD logo, you think "Destructive Device."
In fact, you probably ARE a gun nut if that is the case.
Aw, poor pooch :-)
Ah th' Queen's own, in an Arab doo rag!
After getting tired of getting the back of my neck burned to hell after 7-8 hour day at the range in Wichita Falls (even after slathering up with some serious sunscreen) I bought a shemagh from Cheaper than Dirt....
I figure if it's good enough for our SEALS and SF guys, not to mention the SAS, it's probably good for lil' ole me.
It's actually quite a useful garment, on top of keeping my neck from getting fried, it serves as a great rag for wiping the sweat off my hands or face, and not to mention being able to serve as a handy gun rag when another is not available.
If someone were to happen to mistake me for a terrorist POS sympathizer, well, then they don't really know me, do they. ;)
First let me state that I read several of the more "right of center" blogs on a daily basis. I don't trust the main stream media any more and use blogs as a way to keep up on what's really happening.
With that out of the way...
I'm beginning to get really disappointed with the reaction on the blogs (especially in the comments) every time there is a picture of someone wearing a scarf. If it is being marketed specifically as a way to sympathize with terrorists, then by all means, let 'em rip. If the person is merely wearing a scarf, then please don't assume anything. The color and pattern each mean something.
I know several people that wear black and white shemaghs to the firing range. Look at pictures of Special Forces guys in Afghanistan, several of them are wearing black and white shemaghs as well. There are different patterns, and each pattern (and color) means something, usually tribal alliance. The scarf traditionally associated with Palestine has very thin black lines. The scarf the dog is wearing is not the same pattern. Hell, the scarf Rachel Ray is wearing is not the same pattern either.
If Rachael Ray was sitting there saying "Boy, there's nothing better than a donut and cup of coffee after fighting the Zionist conspiracy", then I could see getting riled up.
Kind of like catfish said, it's actually one of the more useful items I own. It's warm in the winter, keeps the sun off in the summer, wipes the sweat off, can be used as a bag/pouch for gathering brass before leaving the range, etc...
sometimes a scarf is just a scarf. I wear a fadora, it don't make me Indy!
Diamondback
Anon, I wish wearing a fedora made me Indy!
Also, Joker seems to hit the nail on the head. This is the stuff that makes all conservatives look like whackjobs.
