Ilsa Update

This evening, I removed the staples from Ilsa's incision. She is finished with her antibiotics as well. It looks like her wound healing was a success.

Now if I can just get the hair to grow back on her bald spot....... I wonder if this comes in black....... Maybe some fantasy fur......

at first i thought "he took the staples put at home. the vet is going to be pissed off," then I remembered how you earn your living.

You just happen to have a staple remover at home?

Actually, yes......... I used to wound care in the home, which included surgical wounds. I often removed the staples from my patients.

Lots of us with multiple critters, or large animals, perform many simple veterinary procedures ourselves with our vets' full knowledge and approval.

Less stressful for the animals, and does save significant money. With six horses and six dogs, doing suture/staple/drain removal/etc. myself, I still pay five figures a year in vet bills.
