Weekend Envy

This afternoon, I riveted some mild steel splash guards on the rear fender of the commuter bike. They ought to keep my ankles somewhat dry clean if I have to ride in the rain. Even if they don't help, they give the bike a more finished look.

I have more items on my agenda, cleaning tank filters, laundry, cleaning a couple of guns, maybe doing a pawn shop run and going to the range..........

Oh yeah..... Going to the range. Several lucky gun bloggers are shooting at Blackwater with Todd Jarrett this weekend. How about a report or two folks....... Video? A little vicarious viewing for those keeping the gun blog fires burning....... You know you can do it from your laptop in your room........

Xav..get a couple of the clamps and zip tie them on,or just a wrap of sheet metal, then pop rivet some plexaglass panniers on the traingle/V of the seat upright and rear frame area.that should help with the splash coming off the underside of the fender, you enclose the front of the rear wheel it just drops rather then hitting your legs as it is slung forward, that'll be the worst part after you get the drip off the rear of it.you know "the thrown forward splash" you then drive into, aka the "bike messengers verticle wet racing stripe"
P.S. these are also sold as:"CHILD FOOT PROTECTORS" for those people that have to have the kid riding behind them in a fender kiddie seat, and should also serve double duty. YMMV

Nature,
It's kind of hard to see them in the pic, but I'm hoping what I have will still allow me to run the Kryptonite chain through the rear tire/triangle.
