Pop-up Ads

It seems something on my blog is now causing pop-up advertisements from Moxie Search, Premier Bank and a bunch of other internet parasites.

I apologize for this inconvience and am working on getting rid of the offender. If you can help me pinpoint the offensive bug, post it in the comments of this piece. If you are having no problems, post that as well.

Issue resolved. It was a trojan known as Virtumonde, in my own browser....

I'm having no issues.

Best of luck, between the spam infestations and the spam accusations, it would seem Blogger is hell-bent on making your life difficult!

No popups using IE 6, and the popup blocker says none were attempted either.

I see no signs of a problem here--Firefox 3 on Ubuntu Linux Hardy Heron. The pop-up blocker is quiet,

No issues here. Tested with Safari and Firefox. No pop-ups, in fact I just realized I don't have my browsers configured to block the pop-ups.

No popups here. I usually read from a blogreader, but didn't see any popups when I opened the site.

Have you received reports of this from multiple people? If only one or two people have reported this problem, they may want to check their computer for adware. May not be a problem on your site at all.

This is usually my type of standard mischief, but I have to say I think you got it.

I'm on Windows XP at the moment, running Firefox 3.0.3 with the built in "block pop-ups" turned on, JavaScript turned on, Java off, and specifically no AdBlock Plus plug-in installed (it's my work PC).

Normally I don't surf without protection, but something funky was going down on our local intranet and I had to reinstall everything from scratch, so lucky you.

It's also looking good from my *nix box with all the bells and whistles on.

No popups here.

I use Firefox 3.0.3 on an elderly XP machine, with the popup blocker turned on. (note, the lack of popups is not nessecarly soley explained by the popup blocker, there are sites that still manage to leave me with the dang things)

Not seeing any pop-ups. Using firefox on an older (powerPC) Mac. Didn't notice any w/ firefox on a Linux box yesterday.

I've seen nothing from your site that wasn't intended, and I visit at least once per day. Just to double-check, I just went through about ten pages: Nada. Of course, I'm using FireFox v3.0.4 with the Adblock Plus v0.7.5.5 extension, so that might have something to do with it. Gotta love ABP.
Anyhow, I hope you can find the offender soon. Good luck.

If it helps: not seeing any pop ups under Safari 3.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.5, even with the pop-up blocker deactivated.

The offending item may be a bit of malware on the computer of the person reporting the problem, of course.

I hate these bugs. Good luck hunting yours down.

None here. It's more likely adware installed on your computer (assuming you're the one seeing the popups).

If they're appearing on your computer you might try iobit.com's Advanced WindowsCare Personal. There's a free version I use on all my computers.
