It shall be unlawful for any person other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector to possess a qualifying firearm on or after the applicable date, unless that person has been issued a firearm license--
‘(A) under title I of Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009, which license has not been invalidated or revoked under that title; or
‘(B) pursuant to a State firearm licensing and record of sale system certified under section 602 of Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009, which license has not been invalidated or revoked under State law.
‘(36) The term ‘qualifying firearm’--
‘(A) means--
‘(i) any handgun; or
‘(ii) any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device; and
‘(B) does not include any antique.’.

I don't think this bill will be passed in it's present form.
Such a bill would cross my threshold...
So, would it be safe to say that if this bill passes, we will all be criminals? Cuz I am NOT gonna "license" my firearms. Will the Gun "SS" come knock on/down our doors? I will contact my C critter but he's socialist and never met a GC bill he didn't like.....

Contacted my congresscritter, but it is Sheila Jackson Lee, so..... not much hope. She's not a fan of human rights or civil liberties. And she's a huge fan of the State.
Once again, I am disgusted. I'm on it, everyone call your congressman!

"Failure To Report Loss or Theft of Firearm- It shall be unlawful for any person who owns a qualifying firearm to fail to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours after the loss or theft is discovered.’."
R-I-I-G-H-T...
Yeah, that sounds workable.
AND! get this gem.
All gun Owners will have to report their addresses to the AG or become criminals. Maybe we could be made to wear little armbands too? How about some easily identifiable shape like a star...
"Failure To Provide Notice of Change of Address- It shall be unlawful for any individual to whom a firearm license has been issued under title I of Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 to fail to report to the Attorney General a change in the address of that individual within 60 days of that change of address.’."
Contact the critters, indeed, but this is a "watch" for now, not a "worry".
No co-sponsors; same bill introduced last session and didn't get out of committee.
If it starts getting co-sponsors, like Pelosi, and Senate sponsors like Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, Kennedy, Kerry, then this bill becomes much more important.
Congressman Rush has a blog linked to his webpage. on that blog there is a discussion about this bill. i suggest REASONABLE and SHORT reasons why is a bad idea. don't come off as gun nuts. We may get some traction that way.

I am a VET from Iraq. I was wounded during combat ops and spent five months in a hospital because of it. I risked my life for this country. But this is one thing that I will say no to! I don’t care if that makes me a criminal I will not give up my right to bare arms.
Our founding fathers gave us that right for one purpose. For a government to be "of the people, by the people and for the people" the people must maintain the ability to remove the current government by vote or if need be by force. A government should respect us because we hold the power to rmove it, a government that does not respect its people is a government that will not do what is right for them. "Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."
If the government takes away this right what is next on the list, Freedom of Speech? If they pass this bill nothing will stop them when they take our other freedoms from us.
I took an oath to protect this country from threats both foreign and domestic. I feel this is a very real threat to our way of life.
