I love this guy. I'm sure he'll appreciate the traffic from a good dude like you Xav.

Thank you - and well said. It's more difficult daily to convince the fence-sitters that we're not a bunch of 'loose cannons' (pun intended). Vandalism hurts us all.

It's the unfortunate truth that A) humans tend to draw generalizations based on the few examples most visible to them, and B) irresponsible shooters leave high-visibility signs while responsible shooters leave little or no trace. Do the math.

The joke about an infinite number of (yahoos) firing an infinite number of shotgun blasts at infinite number of roadsigns producing the works of Shakespeare in Braille is funny, as a joke.

In the real world, I agree with this guy entirely. This is particularly in light of the fact that being an ass at nearly any other event will likely result in a night in the tank at worst. With firearms it results in lousy PR like this on the not-as-bad end of the spectrum, and innocent people getting hurt or killed on the other end of it.

Thanks for posting this. He is well-spoken, and the scenery reminds me of home.

Unfortunately almost every shooting range I've been to has signs like that around it.

It's a shame that people have to do stupid stuff like that.

We also need to add people who leave their targets, brass, litter and other grunge at the places where they shoot. You should leave a place in better shape than you originally found it.

Yeah thats pretty annoying. The nearest shooting range from my home has an outhouse that has been used as a target...

I agree with his message but I suggest that it's not "selfish" to destroy a road sign - it's just irrational.

Selfish means to pursue one's values, which in the case of a rational man would preclude destruction of property, especially the property of others.

Not trying to nit-pick his message - which I totally agree with - but misuse of the term and concept "selfishness" has become rampant in our culture.

Rational selfishness is a requirement for survival, in almost all cases destruction of property is not a requirement for survival nor in one's best interest - it's just stupidity.

Film them doing it. Turn their asses in.

If they are shooting at a power line insulator, the reward is some big money out here.

Only a few of these morons are doing this. Make their numbers smaller.

guys shooting insulators and my new-to-me video cam paid for my new rifle...and flat RUINED a guy's day when he was blasting the NEW NO SHOOTING SIGNS....but up because of stupidity like he was displaying. I had him on film and he knew it. I got a BIT worried as the muzzle came around towards me as he turned while I drove by.

but it ended OK for me. not so much for the guys shooting signs and insulators.
