Mud

It was pouring rain today. I had planned to go to the range with Frieda again, but the walk to the targets would have been through quicksand. So, instead, I went to photograph a potter at his wheel.

I wanted to ask you about the Springfield XD pistols. What do you think about them? Or the newer generations of handguns that seem to be following the glock trend?

Sorry it seems so off topic but I've been making inquirys before getting to my first buy. I don't want to start with a .45 because I'd probably develop a flinch trying to tame the recoil. I can handle the 9mm pretty well so far.

Dan,
I owned a Springfield XD at one time. It was a durable, safe and accurate pistol. During the AWB it came out with the ability to use Beretta 92FS magazines. Brilliant, as there were a lot of B92 15 rounders still available.

The only reason I sold mine was I went with the 45 cartridge, and plastic tactical guns don't do much for me. The XD9 shot well, was reliable as all get out, and since I bought it used, I didn't take a beating on resale.

Best,
Xavier
