Tip: if you fondle the bristle tips of the brush with your dirty filthy greasy human fingers, when you go to brush the sensor, you will transfer about a metric supertanker load of dirty filthy grease from the now greasy brush onto your nice expensive sensor.
Buy a brush designed specifically for cleaning sensors (I use the ones from Visible Dust.) Charge the brush up using clean compressed air. Don't touch the brush bristles with your fingers, ever.

Sensor Cleaning has been one of the things that I worried about since getting my Nikon D80. That was great information.

the brush was used on the mirror afterwards.
