A few years ago, a threat was phoned in to my house. The attacker never showed up, but when the police arrived they gathered relevant information and reminded us that Colorado is a "make my day" state.; 1:56 AM

Well, it's the store owner's prerogative to show mercy. Miracles can happen. But if I was the store owner, I would get whatever info on the perp again, to follow up on his repentance.
The store owner is now responsible for all the actions of that man he let go. Should the repentant perp backslide and brains a future victim during a future robbery, the shop owner should have to answer for it too.; 5:20 AM

Kilgor, No. Why not? If the store owner's action to trust the perp's change of heart, results in that perp robbing someone else, then yeah, the store owner's responsible for making a judgement call instead of pressing charges.
He in effect is vouching for the perp's character that he will not do it again.

What the store owner should have done, was turn the perp in, to pay for his crime,then support him to seek reformation. By letting that perp go, the store owner put everyone else in his community at risk.

Anyway, everything you said is rather idiotic and you obviously don't know in which way the phrase "In effect" is used in the English language!

I am sorry, I am just furious with these so called "responsible" gun owners being so rash and to be honest, rather moronic(as in, having a mental capacity of between 8-12, a moron) about this situation. The clerk was merciful, and should be shown praise for being such a good person.

The Muslim sugar coat comment I am not going to speak much on, as anybody with this opinion CERTAINLY has NOT EVER left the USA. You are very sheltered, oh, and you REALLY give the rest of us a bad name by association.

Many Muslims in the USA are fighting VERY hard for us. My CO in Al-Anbar was a LT who was a Muslim and I would NOT be here if it wasn't for him.
