A Nurse with a Gun
Xavier is a Registered Nurse who specialized in complex wound care. He has practiced for over fourteen years in his community. He often provided nursing service in areas where law enforcement refused to enter without back-up. Xavier now works in surgery. Xavier has been an avid shooter for over 30 years. He strongly supports the 2nd Amendment, opposes gun control of any sort, and carries a weapon 24 hours a day. Xavier is known on various internet gun forums as XavierBreath. He is married with three children, and is moderated by an apathetic one eyed cat, a goofy Golden Retriever, and a stalwart German Shepherd Dog. One day, he hopes to be deserving of them all.

Hi-Point 995. Nice little carbine.
WOW!
"The police never suggest fighting back?" I know that's not the point of the story, but I have never heard anything so outrageous. A few years ago, a threat was phoned in to my house. The attacker never showed up, but when the police arrived they gathered relevant information and reminded us that Colorado is a "make my day" state.
Police say "they NEVER suggest fighting back". I know not all police are idiots, but...
And I raise a toast to the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine!!
Antibubba
ahh yes, police never suggest fighting back...
Hmmmm, A highpoint carbie. Wonder if it was 9mm or .45.....
Well, it's the store owner's prerogative to show mercy. Miracles can happen. But if I was the store owner, I would get whatever info on the perp again, to follow up on his repentance.
The store owner is now responsible for all the actions of that man he let go. Should the repentant perp backslide and brains a future victim during a future robbery, the shop owner should have to answer for it too.
If I was in similar straits, I would go to a supermarket, explain the situation, and ask if I could work for groceries to feed my family.
Somehow, I would never consider robbery by baseball bat to be a good solution.
I'd say the clerk was victimized twice. Once by the baseball bat, and one by a con-artist crook.
"The store owner is now responsible for all the actions of that man he let go. Should the repentant perp backslide and brains a future victim during a future robbery, the shop owner should have to answer for it too."
Yeah, and you are responsible for anything that is ever done with any gun that you sell.
Have you lost your mind?

Taught the criminal that he can get away with it. "Aiding and abetting" is a criminal act.
God [Allah] protect us from the misguided.
I like to shoot folks as much as the next guy...
but the paperwork is forever....
so he's a hero . I know you like dogs so
HERE is a dog hero story

Yeah, and you are responsible for anything that is ever done with any gun that you sell.
Have you lost your mind?
Kilgor, No. Why not? If the store owner's action to trust the perp's change of heart, results in that perp robbing someone else, then yeah, the store owner's responsible for making a judgement call instead of pressing charges.
He in effect is vouching for the perp's character that he will not do it again.
What the store owner should have done, was turn the perp in, to pay for his crime, then support him to seek reformation. By letting that perp go, the store owner put everyone else in his community at risk.
If you lived there, would you appreciate the store owner's choice, that might come back to bit you?
"The police say never fight back"!!! That's the same BS they told us about airline hijackers...and look where that got us.

Very interesting.
He should've given that turd a bullet in the head, instead of a loaf of bread!
What the police said is negligent, at best.
Im sorry, i don't buy it. Islam is being sugar coated to the Extreme in our media. This went to smooth, with the guy raising his hand, begging to be a "Muslim just like you"...
It was planned and is propaganda. How do I know? I read the Alquida training manual, yes we have it in english, this is a chapter. Manipulate the press...
Sorry, not buying it...
Wow, as an American/nra member/and emphatic gun lover, I am severely embarrassed with 75% of these replies. I expect most gun owners to be kind loving people who are making damn sure that they will not let themselves or family/friends/strangers be victimized.
//I like to shoot folks as much as
//the next guy...
//but the paperwork is forever....
I am sensing some facetiousness in that comment, but I can and will say that you are a huge moron. You have obviously never taken a life, or even shot somebody while standing in close proximity. It is a horrible and devastating thing to have to do. You are a fool, joke or not.
//If the store owner's action to //trust the perp's change of heart, //results in that perp robing //someone else, then yeah, the //store owner's responsible for //making a judgement call instead //of pressing charges.

Wow. You are a fool too! And no I am not going to be a troll and tell you how many words you misspelled in that...point being, you missed a very key word....oh and you watch too many police TV drama.... PERPS! Come on now Kojak!!
Anyway, everything you said is rather idiotic and you obviously don't know in which way the phrase "In effect" is used in the English language!
You are a wicked hearted person and I wish you the best in life even thought I am certain it will only bring you sadness.
I am sorry, I am just furious with these so called "responsible" gun owners being so rash and to be honest, rather moronic(as in, having a mental capacity of between 8-12, a moron) about this situation. The clerk was merciful, and should be shown praise for being such a good person.
Glen,
The Muslim sugar coat comment I am not going to speak much on, as anybody with this opinion CERTAINLY has NOT EVER left the USA. You are very sheltered, oh, and you REALLY give the rest of us a bad name by association.
Many Muslims in the USA are fighting VERY hard for us. My CO in Al-Anbar was a LT who was a Muslim and I would NOT be here if it wasn't for him.
Glen, you are basically a disgrace to our country and NOT a patriot at all to espouse such beliefs as...One of the MOST BASIC TENETS OF OUR COUNTRY is very simple.
GlenBoy, our country... um.. the USA, yeah..the one you just embarrassed, we were FOUNDED ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM! It is one of the most important parts of being an american!
Shape up people. This is embarrassing.
Xav, you are great, maybe you can instill some compassion in these guys, you served, and things have changed, but it is still the same corp, the same Army, etc... in our souls. this is embarrassing.
Oh yes and way to point out the HI-Point....ahh my first pistol round rifle....
