I think it's pretty. Of course, one would need a beautifully tooled holster as well as the proper silk suit to wear with that gun when attending church or other formal affairs but, that said, it looks like a beautiful gun for dress up occasions. I can't imagine actually shooting it and getting it dirty.
This pistol is blue. Not " gun blue", not " blue steel", as in the " blue - black" of fine metal work, but BLUE, as in Sinatra's eyes or perhaps the politcal map on CBS.
Why does anyone want a blue pistol?
What would the shrink think " Vy do you vant a blue pischtol, eh?"
Maybe it is a unique marketing campaign from SIG - at least the offering is drawing notice.
Um, well, [looks sheepish] I like the color. Not the grips because the wood is lovely but it's too pale for that color. Needs black grips. But I like the color overall, and I could probably get an extra round off while my attacker is staring and giggling. LittleRed1
I reserve the right to not publish ignorant ill-informed and filthy comments from vile cretins who have a four letter vocabulary. Further, anonymous comments with strong opinions and personal attacks may be rejected. If you want to voice a strong opinion, at least have the courage to sign your name to it. You don't even have to use your name, make something up so the next person can address your comment without confusion.
You mean to tell me Sig is trying to sell these? I like blue on lots of things, but on firearms?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a bad idea to have blue as a common colour for inert training simulators, and then to finish a functioning piece with it.

Happy Fathers' Day!
ReplyDeleteNot that ugly. If it was yellow instead of blue I would go for it.
ReplyDeleteI love the burled wood grips, but besides that - ewwww!
ReplyDeleteActually, I think that looks very nice. Except for the whole, you know, blue part.
ReplyDeleteNow, if the gun were blued (as in firearm finish, not color) and polished, or done in nice Satin Stainless, it would be beautiful.
I think my respect level for SIG just dropped a little. Okay, a lot.
I'll shut up now.
Well, I like the grips anyway.
ReplyDeleteSig is weaseling in on a market currently dominated by Taurus (pimpified from the factory).
ReplyDeleteNothing that some Krylon (excuse me, GunKote) wouldn't fix.
And it came from the factory that way, amazing.

ReplyDeleteNaa, don't like the price tag without the gold..
ReplyDeleteI've always considered nice wood stocks on a SiG the equivalent of wire wheels on a Hummer.
ReplyDeleteGold-plated leverage...gah. I'm going to go lovingly gaze upon my plain, unadorned SiGs and mourn for their misbegotten bretheren.
Regards,
Rabbit.
Blueing: Yur doing it wrong
ReplyDeleteNot only is is fugly - they've made it the exact color of a training "dummy" gun. Not too smart!
ReplyDeleteI just had to throw out a comment.

Final thought- yech- what an ugly gun.

Bluing fail.
ReplyDeleteYou can also get a P226 X-FIVE GOLDEN DRAGON. Wow! It's orange with lamocamo grips.
ReplyDeleteThey're both gruesome. I like my all black P229 SAS just fine thank you.
Raptor: "Actually, I think that looks very nice. Except for the whole, you know, blue part."
ReplyDeleteSo at least you agree that the P226 X-FIVE GOLDEN DRAGON (link) is beautiful?
I think both these guns are beautiful.
Heh. It's a barbecue gun, straight from the factory.
ReplyDeleteThat is, if you routinely barbecue with pimps.
