That damned hospital fire alarm.......Why does it have to be so damned loud? Isn't there an OSHA regulation or something? Those of us who hear will assist those who cannot. We don't want to join them in their deafness!
I mean, come on.......We have a morgue down there.......Dead people........I don't want them waking up and running outside!

Speaking as someone whose home smoke alarms malfunctioned at 3:00 AM last week - causing every last one of them to go off because they are, of course, inter-connected - and spent an appreciable amount of time looking for fire, then figuring out which one of the %^&* alarms had the problem (and then laying in bed fighting for two hours off the sick mind game of his subconscious, which violently woke him up every time he started to fall asleep because it was convinced this was really a CO alarm and I would surely die if I slipped), I can fully sympathize.
As a hotel worker who deals with similar alarms, I can't speak for OSHA regs about loudness, but I do know that we're forbidden to silence a fire alarm (as opposed to a trouble alarm, which is a lesser alarm that doesn't alert guests) until the fire department shows up and we're specifically allowed by the fire marshall to silence it.
I needed a new keyboard.
Now that this one has spit splash all over it, there is good reason for the purchase.
