Butt Bandits

nick said:
"LOL can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen I suppose.

put yourself out there, you're going to butt heads with people. that's true of anything. thought you were a bit tougher than this. friggin 12 year olds on youtube can handle that.

will miss ugly gun sunday... s'bout it."

For fifteen years I went into peoples home, into dangerous situations and communities to help a bunch of idiots who neither appreciated what I did, or cared. I suspect that many thought it was amusing that I would keep coming back. Before that, I was a part of a liberation effort of one country and the suppression of two coups. Those who benefitted from what I participated in, at risk to my own life and limb for absolutely no gain, now believe me to be a fool for doing so. They despise our country for helping them when they were invaded. They laugh at us. They support those who would harm and kill our children based on religious prejudice. Yet they still will not get off their dead asses and do what is necessary to protect themselves. They are the leeches of the world.

Today, I see the same type of parasites, these same ticks on society, every day. They arrive on gurneys for me to patch up and send back home to suck more blood from society. Each day. Over and over again. They come in shot to shit, cut to Hell, or beat to a pulp because they don't know how to behave in a civilized society. They come in barely hurt but in handcuffs and whining like a little piggie, because they killed somebody driving drunk or stoned. They come with broken glass shoved into their rectum, or claiming to have vomited blood so they can get their demerol fix. Anything for the dope.

At the hospital, I do not have the authority to chose who I will work on, or even to not give the dope. I will do what the case demands and I will work the cases the doc deems necessary. I suppose if some dumbass breaks a coke bottle and shoves the jagged neck of it up his ass to get dtugs, he must want them pretty damned bad. What the Butt Bandit doesn't realize is that he places the medical professionals who remove his ass glass at risk of death from disease if they are injured caring for him. He places their spouses and children at risk. All it takes is one cut. When the spouse contracts HIV, and the child is orphaned by a dead Daddy, the act of shoving a broken Coke bottle up your ass to get demerol is pretty damned childish, selfish and stupid. I don't care how badly you are hooked.

I can't take away the dope from the dopeheads in the hospital. I can here. Nothing here but Ugly Gun Sunday for ya? Good. No more Ugly Gun Sunday. No more pretty pictures either.

12 years olds on YouTube? I'm not a fucking twelve year old on YouTube, idiot. Perhaps you missed that little bit of information. Let me explain something to you, nick without a shift key.......... You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. You are the same kind of parasite that is beneath my contempt. You take what you want and offer nothing. Then you spit in the face of those who have fed your lazy ass when they say no. Tough? You are a child. A simple, stupid, immature and worthless punk kid.

Bye asswipe. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  1. Lol... Hell, even *I* feel better after you said that. Needed to be said.

The world is full of idiots. In other era's they would have been herded in front of the real soldiers to foul the lances of the enemy.

  2. See, sometime you need to hit a low to remember who you are. Good on ya Xav.

Hey nick, just because a 12 year old with a keyboard can roll in the gutter and try to overcompensate by pulling people down doesn't mean we adults need to tolerate you.

P.S. I'd really miss the pretty pics and the ugly guns :)

  3. Now my Nick would never have been so impolite, (as you know he's in love with Ilsa) but there just is no telling with some dogs. Must be dogs posting. Human beings are supposed to know better. (but then they don't do they?) How can people think it is appropriate to insult their host like that I don't know. Bad parenting I guess. Weep for them.

    Xavier,

    Amen. Just amen.

Teddy Roosevelt had it right when he wrote, "In the Arena".

God Bless You for what you've done!

    Thank You.

  5. Hey Xav, you are awesome. I'll miss Ugly Gun Sunday, but I'l keep coming back. Yours is a voice I like to hear. I'm glad you are sticking around.

I hate to see you go Xavier. You and Syd and Lawdog were 3 of the first "gunbloggers" I ever bookmarked. The three of you did more for teaching me the proper mindset for self defense than all of the keyboard commandos out there put together. Did a lot for my mindset about life in general as well.

Syd's kind of checked out and now you. Sorry to hear it.

    Live well.

Xavier, you farewell caught me by surprise, and since you turned off comments on the earlier post, I just gotta thank you here. Thanks for all the great articles over the years. You are such a eclectic guy on so many levels, and an engaging form of writing.

I was attracted first by the gun articles, but your coverage on bikes inspired me to ride again, and I rediscover the joys of my youth that I though were lost. Don't let the minor "nicks" in life
get you down. If all that bozo appreciated was the pix, he has a shallow life indeed.

Best wishes on enjoying your full life

    X,

Guns? Pretty pics? Eh, so what. What I will miss is your compassion, your wisdom, and your insight into the human condition. OK, I'll admit that I bought a 1927 Argentine because of you, but that's not what kept me coming back. It was your wisdom and depth of understanding. God Speed, Brother. If you get the urge, come back and see us.

  9. I sincerely hope you don't stop the pictures or ugly gun Sunday. I have never commented before but cheking your forum is part of my daily read.

I started for the guns but I love the photos, the pawn shop stories and ugly gun. Please keep it up.

    Xavier -

When I was just a wee lad, I learned that "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all."

It was a lesson we were all taught back then. Obviously, some of us either forgot it, or forgot to pass it on to our children. There is no doubt that "nick" is one of those.

    Xavier,

I know that this post was not meant to be funny, but I must admit that I had a smile on my face while I read it. I don't think I will ever pick a verbal (or physical for that matter) fight with you!

See, this doesn't show that you need to drop Ugly Gun Sundays, it means you need to return Idiots with Guns. Or Without Guns. Whichever.

Just remember, the majority of your readers aren't sub-literate trolls; it's just that by our nature we don't tend to make comments just to see ourselves in print. As response to your quitting post showed, you touch a lot of us.

I worked in Customer Care at one of the most hated companies in America, and I learned quickly that when someone was bitching and swearing and threatening, it Wasn't About Me. It often wasn't even about the Company--we got a great many "butt bandits" who wanted something for nothing.

Go shoot some guns, Xav. Take pictures, spend time with your kids. Maybe even go on a blinding drunk in the company of friends who will scrape you off the floor and safely drive you home. Go have some fun; we'll wait.

Grateful for your work, and would credit a number of second-hand Smith purchases to the information gleaned here (developed a 'gut feeling' for when a Smith looks right, can't get that from a book). Hope to see more later, but I understand. i still check DuToit and DenBeste for hebbonsake, so if you write it I'll see it.

You are not even worthy of Xavier's contempt.

    Xavier:

I've been reading your blog for years, and look forward to doing so for many more years to come.

You clued me in to the beauty of the K22. I now have a pair of K-frames that were both built in 1967. They are almost identical except for the caliber. Recently, a pair of ladies used my K22 to qualify for their carry permit. And so the cycle continues...

  22. Hmmm... I think I missed something, haven't I? That was pretty explosive for such an insignificant amount of your average everyday Internet jackassery. Maybe "nick" is a repeat douchebag? But even so... ?

It's the Internet man. Can't take the idiots too seriously, eh? ;-)

I just delete the folks like Nick that comment on my blog. Don't you wish in real life you could deal with assholes like that just by hitting a delete button?

Remember, there are a lot of us out there who be appreciating you, X.

I tried to comment on your goodbye post, but Google out-smarted me. I am awfully glad you'll keep it up. As the others have said, take a nice break, then think about coming back. I really enjoy your blog.

As Gen Joseph Stilwell said, "Illegitimi non carborundum," roughly translated means, "Don't let the bastards grind you down." I think the best way to deal with key-board commando-ass-hats like little nicky is to ignore and delete them. Kinda like waving to the asshole the gives you the finger. Just makes them mad, and makes you feel better!i

  25. Word of advice ... just my $0.02, so don't feel the slightest obligation to heed it:

Trolls crave attention. Any attention. Even bad attention. You just gave this one a post worth.

Back when I was still blogging ( and I may again, but with a lot more anonymity ), I wouldn't give trolls and socialists the attention they craved by replying to them.

I would simply ass a note to the bottom of their post "edited by blog owner for clarity" and proceed to turn their post into the most hilarious lampoon I could come up with.

Being made a laughing stock with out even acknowledging their spew worked.

None of them ever returned. Ever.

I'm an ER RN, and appreciate your comments on the parasites; we see them all the time. We also see the kids with their sore throats, the middle-aged with their various types of heart attacks, the elderly with numerous ailments, often compounded by the meds they take for other ailments. My point is, yeah, there are scumbags out there that really can wear one down, but the reward of seeing someone with a good out come is part of the "calling". Your writing has given rewards in a variety of areas for me and those I refer to your blog; thank you for your service, and please continue in any form you like.

    Hi Xavier,
I haven't read your blog often over the last year, but I used to read it every day.

A piece of advice about the email hecklers, and a request.

Advice: ignore them, which will be easier if you turn off comments.

Request: even if you end the blog, please leave it public, as it is a valuable reference.

Thanks for sharing your opinions and experiences. Among many other other things, your blog has served the public as a politely reasoned voice of sanity about firearms.

  31. Xav, wanted to add my .02

Yours is a voice of reason, common sense, and hard-won wisdom. If you decide to end your blog, I will certainly miss it but respect your decision.

My thanks to you for all your efforts. Your blog has been educational and inspirational. You are also a damn good writer.

    God bless you.

Wow X, you really hit the nail on the head with this. Parasites!!!! It breaks my heart to see these parasites bleeding the life out of our society. At my wifes hospital these parasites and their families demand to be treated like they are at a five star hotel, their food and wants are often more important to them than the care of the person they are visiting. My wife is a highly trained hugely compassionate productive member of our society. Her job is as much a calling as a job. Almost without exception these parasites treat the hospital staff horribly. The people that are actually paying for their care are some of the most gracious caring thankful people you will ever meet. God bless you and my wife for your self-sacrificing efforts toward the improving the life of others. I hope you are rewarded both today (financially) and in the afterlife.

PS Love the Blog! Don't give up. Thank you.

    xavier,
i'm pleased you've decided not to let "nick", whoever he might be, stop you from blogging. i'm not a frequent visitor, and i don't remember ever posting here but when i have a chance to drop by i enjoy what i find. your hock shop hunts, your comments on guns, good and bad and yes, even the "social commentary". i've had to make too many trips to the e.r. for chronic migraines when even max strength excedrin did not help. (thankfully they seem to have abated with age)and more recently a trip through the e.r. for an attack of angina pectoris followed by implant of a stent. my local rescue service and e.r. people are great, and deserve much more credit and respect than they get. please ignore the morons like "nick", you've got friends out here that you don't even know of, and we'd miss you, ugly gun sunday and all.

I reserve the right to not publish ignorant ill-informed and filthy comments from vile cretins who have a four letter vocabulary. Further, anonymous comments with strong opinions and personal attacks may be rejected. If you want to voice a strong opinion, at least have the courage to sign your name to it. You don't even have to use your name, make something up so the next person can address your comment without confusion.
