  2. Note that Nagin was term limited, so it isn't an upset of the incompetent although it probably would have been had he been able to run.

But with Landrieu I keep flashing on names like Kennedy and Richard Daley, and even Romney and Gore or maybe Bush or not-quite-Biden.

You can only grow up to be President, Governor, Senator, Congressman or Mayor if it runs in your family in America.

Think of the election savings if we just resort to pure primogeniture?

  3. Xavier,

I have to ask; what do you think about him? I've heard 'uncomplimentary' things about Mary Landrieu (I assume there's some familial relationship involved) so I'm curious.

Since I've lived in Alaska for the past 19+ years (with 5 before that from 1983 to 88), I've become recently familiar with Sara Palin so I know that there are 'two sides to every issue'. I like Sara (even though I know that there are many in Alaska who don't).

What do you think about him? Is this 'good' for New Orleans?

  4. Well heck, whooped again. I suppose if a dead gar had run it could be elected......

Landrieu good for NOLA? I don't know really. I just heard it on the news this AM and decided to post.

  5. The wrong one is bolded.

    Don't you understand?

THE FREAKING SAINTS WON THE FREAKING SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOHOOOO!

No one cares about the mayor of NOLA. He's just another crook. I lived under the original Landrieu.

Where's my duct tape? The Saints won the freaking Super Bowl! aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh boom.

  6. For us out of towners, I believe Mitch is related to Mary, it's a big clan after all. He's the son of 'Moon' Landrieu IIRC, the last caucasian mayor of NOLA. Good luck to him, the town's in hog heaven for the next few days but he's got a big job ahead of him. Not just cleaning up after Katrina, cleaning up after Nagin.
